Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's annual inflation rate jumped to 14.7% in June 2022, compared to 5.3% in the same month in 2021, according to the latest data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
On a monthly basis, the country's Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded 129.8 points in June, down 0.3% from May.
This monthly decrease in Egypt's inflation is driven by lower prices of vegetables by 18.8% and fruit by 10.5%.
On the other hand, the prices of cereals and bread rose by 2.4%, fish and seafood by 2.1%, oil and fats by 1.3%, as well as meat and poultry by 1.1%.
