Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s annual core inflation rate rose to 5.2% in October, compared to 4.8% in September, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
The monthly core consumer price index (CPI) stood at 2.1% in October, compared to 1.7% in the same month a year earlier and 0.4% in September 2021, data showed.
Earlier, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that the monthly headline urban core CPI registered 1.5% in October, compared to 1.8% in the same month in 2020 and 1.1% in September 2021. Accordingly, the annual headline inflation rate stood at 6.3% in October, compared to 6.6% a month earlier.
