Cairo - Mubasher: The agricultural sector has contributed EGP 750.2 billion to Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) in fiscal year 2020/2021, up 10.8% from EGP 677.3 billion in the earlier year, the Egyptian Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) announced.
The agricultural sector has recorded around EGP 51.7 billion in investments during 2020-2021, compared to EGP 40.8 billion in the earlier year.
The state's general budget has allocated EGP 665 million for supporting farmers in 2021, up from EGP 140 million in the previous year.
Meanwhile, the total amount of subsidised fertilisers reached 2.2 million tonnes in 2020-2021.
