Egypt’s Public Business Sector, Petroleum Ministries ink EGP 13.5bn debt settlement deal

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Minister of Public Business Sector, Hisham Tawfik, and the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, witnessed the signing of debt settlement protocols between public business sector companies and petroleum and electricity companies.

Under the EGP 13.5 billion deals, public business sector companies will pay debts to the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and its subsidiaries for their consumption of natural gas, according to a statement on Monday.

The debt will be paid through transferring the ownership of unused real estate assets of public sector companies to the petroleum and electricity companies.
