Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) provided EGP 9.1 billion in funding to enterprises founded by women from July 2014 until the end of 2020, the Executive Director of MSMEDA and Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, said.
The funding included about 27,850 loans to small enterprises and around 595,700 loans to micro-enterprises, Gamea added in a statement on Monday.
These loans directed to women represent 46% of the total value of loans provided by MSMESA during the said period.
These projects contributed to creating 702,742 jobs, she pointed out.
