Egypt records 46.3% higher medical, pharmaceutical exports in 8M-22

Cairo – Mubasher: Exports of Egypt’s medical and pharmaceutical sector hit $632 million during the period from January to August 2022, a year-on-year (YoY) surge of 46.30% from $432 million, Akhbar El-Yom reported.

In the meantime, the country’s exports of cosmetics jumped by 112% during the first eight months (8M) of the year to $410 million, compared to $193 million, whereas exports of medicines reached $153 million in 8M-22, compared to $177 million in 8M-21.

Moreover, exports of medical industries rose by 11.30% YoY during January-August 2022 to reach $69 million from $62 million.

In August 2022 alone, total exports of the sector skyrocketed by 83% to stand at $86 million, compared to $47 million in the year-ago month.
