Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has received the second shipment of coronavirus vaccine by the Chinese pharmaceutical giant Sinopharm after it landed at Cairo’s international airport from the UAE on Sunday.
The vaccine will first be administered to health care workers, particularly those who deal with COVID-19 cases, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Health on Sunday.
The first shipment of the Chinese vaccine arrived on Thursday.
Clinical trials for the vaccine showed an efficacy rate of 86%.
On Saturday, the Egyptian Ministry of Health reported 478 new coronavirus cases, bringing its tally to 121,089 with 6,898 deaths.
