Egypt receives 500k doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Health and Population, Hala Zayed, announced that the country received 500,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine against coronavirus (COVID-19).

The new shipment will help the country in its effort to combat the spread of the virus, the Spokesman of Ministry of Health, Khaled Megahed, said in a statement on Monday.

In addition, work is underway to produce the first batch of Sinovac vaccine in Egypt under an agreement signed between the Egyptian Holding Company for Biopharmaceuticals and Vaccines (Vacsera) and China’s Sinovac Life Sciences Company in April.
