Egypt pays EGP 30bn export subsidies to 2,500 companies

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, said that more than 2,500 export companies have received about EGP 30 billion in a year and a half under the overdue export subsidy payment initiatives.

These subsidies have contributed to providing the needed cash liquidity for boosting production, Maait added in a statement on Tuesday.

Earlier in November, the fourth phase of the immediate disbursement of export subsidies initiative was launched in response to the demand of the business community.

These remarks came during an open dialogue with representatives from the business community and development partners during a conference organised by the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA).
