Egypt oil, gas consumption goes down 1.2% YoY in FY17/18

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s consumption of petroleum products and natural gas has declined 1.2% year-on-year to 79.2 million tonnes during the fiscal year 2017-2018.

The country’s consumption of petroleum products reached 34.4 million tonnes in FY17/18, compared to 37.8 million tonnes a year earlier, according to Youm7.

Earlier in January, Egypt's petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla stated that a host of investors and global oil companies were expected to enter into agreements with the Egyptian government for gas and oil explorations in the Red Sea area during 2019.
