Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Public Business Sector announced that its negotiations with China’s Dongfeng Motor Corporation to locally manufacture E70 electric vehicles (EVs) have come to an end without reaching an agreement with the automaker.
The Chinese automobile manufacturer didn't agree on reducing the imported components to enable the state-owned El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company to produce EVs at competitive prices, according to a statement on Thursday.
The ministry will collaborate with the Metallurgical Industries Holding Co and El Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company on looking for another partner for the project before the end of November.
In January 2021, Egypt signed a framework agreement with Dongfeng for the manufacture of E70 EVs after a series of talks.
