Egypt invests EGP 650bn in Sinai since 2014

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government has spent more than EGP 650 billion on projects in Sinai since 2014, according to a report issued by the cabinet’s media centre on Sunday.

Public investments directed to Sinai have increased by 415% over eight years, the report showed.

These investments are expected to reach EGP 10.3 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2021/2022, compared to EGP 8.3 billion in FY20/21, EGP 5.4 billion in FY19/20, EGP 3.4 billion in FY18/19, EGP 4.2 billion in FY17/18, EGP 6.3 billion in FY16/17, EGP 2.7 billion in FY15/16, and EGP 2 billion in FY14/15.
