Cairo – Mubasher: Total value of investments in barrages and reservoirs in Egypt have reached EGP 531 million during 2019, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported, citing a report released by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
Since the beginning of 2019, a total amount of EGP 439 million has been directed to build New Assiut barrage and its hydropower plant, head of barrages and reservoirs sector, Ashraf Hebeishy, revealed.
In addition, the irrigation ministry has invested EGP 95 million in the repair and rehabilitation of several barrages, he noted.
