Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has invested EGP 3 billion in expanding and replacing electricity networks in Giza Governorate from July 2014 until October 2020.
The works included the installation of 1,300 electrical transformers with different capacities and 2,600 low-voltage electric boxes and the extension of medium-voltage cables with lengths of 2,800 kilometres (km) and low-voltage cables with lengths of 1,450 km, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Over the six years, e-payments for digital and mechanical meters in Giza reached EGP 580 million, he added.
