Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation, Rania El-Mashat, and the German Ambassador to Cairo, Cyrill Jean Nunn, signed grant agreements worth EUR 57.5 million as part of the financial and technical cooperation agreements between the two countries in 2019.
The grants are aimed at financing the implementation of six projects in energy efficiency and renewable energy, technical education and vocational training, promoting innovation in the private sector, administrative reform, water resources, and sanitation, according to a statement on Thursday.
These projects will be executed by the concerned bodies and ministries in Egypt, KfW Development Bank, and German Corporation for International Cooperation.
Egypt’s current development cooperation portfolio with Germany amounts to EUR 1.7 billion worth of loans, grants, technical support, and financial contributions.
