Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Ministry of Transport announced signing a contract for purchasing 12 electrified rubber-tired gantry (E-RTG) cranes for the Tahya Misr multi-purpose terminal at Alexandria Port.
The EGP 350 million agreement was signed by the Egyptian Group for Multipurpose Terminals (EGMPT) and Liebherr Group, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The terminal plays a vital role in turning Alexandria Port into a regional hub for trade and logistics thanks to its proximity to the light rail transit (LRT) connecting between the ports of the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea.
