Cairo – Mubasher: The Chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co., Gaber Dessouki, witnessed the inauguration of the development and rehabilitation of Sidi Kerir’s two power plants affiliated to West Delta Electricity Company and El-Atf power plant affiliated to Middle Delta Electricity Production Company.
The total cost of the development and rehabilitation project amounts to about $274 million (EGP 3.7 billion), according to a statement on Monday.
Long-term maintenance contracts have been signed for North Cairo, Sidi Kerir, and El-Atf plants at a total cost of $220 million (EGP 3.4 billion) in collaboration with an alliance comprised of Mitsubishi Power Egypt and Mitsubishi Power Europe.
These plants are part of a project for developing and raising the efficiency of six gas turbine power plants at a capacity of 250 megawatts (MW) each.
