Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's trade and industry minister Neveen Gamea held an extended meeting with a Samsung delegation to preview the South Korean company's current projects in Egypt, as well as its future investments planned to be launched over the coming period.
The Egyptian government values the tech giant’s investments in the local market that helped provide thousands of job opportunities in upper Egypt governorates, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Samsung Electronics Egypt’s chairman, Choonki Kwon, and the managing director of Samsung Electronics Egypt, Jaehwan Lee.
Samsung’s projects in Egypt contributed to increasing the export of Egyptian electronics to global markets, given that Samsung Egypt exports more than 85% of its production to the markets across the Middle East, the Arab region, Europe, and Africa, the minister highlighted.
She further reiterated the trade ministry’s support to the company’s expansion projects, which include new production facilities for manufacturing computer monitors and TVs at an investment value of $84 million over five years.
