Egypt develops Greater Transfiguration at St. Catherine with EGP 3bn

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Central Agency for Reconstruction, affiliated to the Ministry of Housing, has worked on 426 projects in Sinai and Suez Canal cities with billions of pounds since 2014. 

These projects aim at contributing to developing Sinai through improving roads and services provided to citizens, enhancing the living standards of residents, and making the best use of available resources, the Minister of Housing, Assem El-Gazzar, said in a statement on Wednesday. 

One of the major projects is the Greater Transfiguration Development Project at the Monastery of Saint Catherine which is currently being implemented at an estimated cost of EGP 3 billion, El-Gazzar added. 

As for roads, the country is constructing 98 roads with total lengths of 926 kilometres (km), including 854 km of roads that have already been built and 72 km still under construction. 

The residential projects include the establishment of more than 16,000 housing units for Sinai residents.
