Egypt approves $50m loan deal for combating COVID-19

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s official gazette published the presidential decree no. 452 of 2020 for approving the $50 million loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Thursday. 

The loan agreement, signed on 5 July 2020, will support Egypt’s efforts in preventing, detecting, and responding to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, along with providing and distributing the necessary medical equipment and supplies.

The loan will be repaid over 60 semi-annual installments with a five-year grace period.
