Egypt approves $400m funding from World Bank

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian cabinet agreed to proceed in procedures to obtain a soft loan from the World Bank to support the comprehensive health insurance system.

The World Bank approved a request to increase the funding to $400 million from $250 million, according to a cabinet statement on Wednesday.

The loan will be used to finance the health insurance subscriptions of the neediest people and develop the healthcare infrastructure in the governorates where this system will be applied.
