Egypt allocates EGP 92.4bn for Upper Egypt's development in FY21/22

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt will inject EGP 92.4 billion investments in developing Upper Egypt governorates as part of its fiscal year 2021/2022 plan, the Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala Al-Saeed, announced.

The southern Upper Egypt region will account for 55.2% of these investments with EGP 51 billion, followed by the central region with EGP 22.1 billion and the northern region with EGP 19.3 billion.

The government will allocate around EGP 14.6 billion of these investments for Aswan to develop the other services, sanitation, and the transport, storage, and health services sectors.

In addition, around EGP 9.2 billion and EGP 13 billion investments will be dedicated to the Red Sea Governorate and Sohag, respectively.
