Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, announced the allocation of EGP 600 billion for the national rural development initiative "Haya Karima" (A Decent Life) for three years, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Wednesday.
An amount of EGP 200 billion has been allocated for each phase of the initiative, El-Sisi added during inspecting equipment, vehicles, and machines used by state-run entities participating in the initiative.
It was originally planned to inject EGP 450 billion into the initiative, but Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the assigned ministers estimated that each of the three phases will require EGP 200 billion, raising the allocation to EGP 600 billion.
The initiative is expected to cover about 50-60 million people living in rural areas in the country.
