Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Finance, Mohamed Maait, has allocated EGP 6.3 billion to support tourism, culture, and aviation sectors during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
During fiscal year 2020/2021, the government allocated EGP 3.2 billion for the tourism and culture sectors and EGP 3.1 billion for the aviation sector, Maait added in a statement on Wednesday.
The country has also allocated EGP 14.4 billion for the healthcare sector since the crisis started.
This came during the minister’s meeting with a US delegation headed by US Secretary of Treasury, Steven Mnuchin.
Mnuchin affirmed his country’s commitment towards enhancing its economic ties with Egypt and injecting more investments into the country.
