Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, said that the initiatives launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, including Haya Karima (A Decent Life) initiative, will have a significant impact on rural development.

The first phase of the initiative includes the delivery of natural gas to 1,413 villages; 59 of which have already been connected to the grid and work is underway for 17 other villages, El-Molla added in a statement on Sunday.

The remaining 1,337 villages are planned to be connected to the natural gas network at a cost of more than EGP 16 billion after the completion of extending sewage lines, he noted.
