Cairo - Mubasher; Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea met with the UAE's Ambassador to Egypt, Hamad Al Shamsi, to explore the possible means of strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
Egypt has managed to foster its relationship with the UAE on several levels, especially the trade, industry, and investment sectors, Gamea said in a statement on Sunday.
The UAE has been Egypt's largest trade partner in the Middle East with bilateral trade amounting to $4.111 billion in 2020, up from $3.356 billion in 2019, the minister revealed.
Egypt's exports to the UAE increased to $2.882 billion last year from $2.051 billion in 2019.
The UAE is also the largest foreign investor in Egypt as it contributed to projects with a total capital of more than $7 billion.
