Egypt Education Platform to develop first int'l school in Somabay

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt Education Platform (EEP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Somabay to develop and operate the first international school in Somabay under GEMS International Schools stream-EEP.

The new school will officially launch in September 2023, with the aim of providing quality educational services for the local community in the Red Sea governorate, according to a statement on Monday.

Somabay’s school project is the third accomplishment in a row for EEP, following a major partnership with The Sovereign Fund of Egypt (TSFE) to develop and operate two schools in West Cairo with a total capacity of 5,000 students.

Abu Soma Development Company's CEOIbrahim El-Missiri, commented: “Our long-term vision is to develop Somabay as a permanent fully integrated residential community, which also goes in line with Egypt’s 2030 vision, creating sustainable communities across Egypt."

For his part, the CEO of Egypt Education Platform, Ahmed Wahby, said: “Our plan for the new school is to create long-term value through conveniently-located quality education provision, which contributes to Somabay turning into a permanent residential destination rather than just being a seasonal touristic attraction.”
