Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and the African nations reached nearly $5 billion, the Egyptian Prime Minister said.
The most populous Arab country aims to double this number within the next five years, Mostafa Madbouli added on the sidelines of inaugurating the 1st Intra-African Trade Fair 2018 being held in Egypt.
Egyptian investments into the African markets exceeded $8 billion, which offered ten thousands of jobs, mainly in the sectors of construction, infrastructure, energy, mining, agriculture, telecommunication, information technology, according to a statement.
Egyptian president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi previously stated that Egypt was aiming to boost its investments in Africa.
Egypt’s investments in the world's second biggest continent increased by $1.2 billion in 2018, recording $10.2 billion.
