Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism has partnered with CNN to launch a campaign to promote tourism in Egypt.
CNN will create a special report on Egypt’s tourism attractions which will be aired in Europe, the Middle East and Africa by the end of the year, tourism minister Yehia Rashed said in a statement on Monday.
Additionally, the American news channel will promote the campaign on its official website, the statement added.
This partnership helps Egypt to fulfil part of an international promotion strategy through a strong outlet for the target audience, Rashed said, noting that this partnership is a significant step regarding tourism in Egypt.
In September, a government official told Reuters that Egypt’s tourism revenues soared 170% to $3.5 billion during the first seven months of 2017, compared to the prior-year period.
Egypt hopes that the number of tourists will increase to 8 million visitors, compared to 4.5 million tourists in 2016.
Egypt will keep promoting for the country in Europe and the Arab World until the end of the current year.
