Dubai – Mubasher: The EU officials set a proposal to remove eight countries from the tax haven blacklist, which was adopted in December, according to an official document.
The countries in the delisting proposal included the UAE, Panama, South Korea, Barbados, Grenada, Macao, Mongolia, and Tunisia, Reuters reported, adding that the eight countries had offered earlier to modify their tax rules.
The proposal is scheduled to be discussed at EU ambassadors’ meeting on Wednesday, 17 January, and “is expected to be adopted by EU finance ministers when they meet next week in Brussels for monthly talks”, the international news agency concluded.
