Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Sugar and Integrated Industries Company (ESIIC) plans to establish 3 fertiliser production factories with up to EGP 480 million investments, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Tuesday.
The statement was made by ESIIC Chairman, Essam El-Bedeiwy, on the sidelines of the seventh edition of the Food Africa Exhibition. Taking place during 5-7 December 2022, Food Africa is the largest trade fair in Africa dedicated to the food and agricultural industries.
ESIIC, an affiliate of the Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, received the Holding Company for Food Industries' (HCFI) approval to establish the first fertiliser factory with EGP 160 million investments and a production capacity of 115,000 tonnes per year.
The company further obtained final approval to set up a vinasse production factory with EGP 60 million investments and mulls establishing another one.
The official added that his company is currently in talks with the European Bank to provide financing and grants to establish eco-friendly projects.
