EGX30 hits historic high, closes above 14,000 pts Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a bullish wave on Sunday on the back of local and foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index closed Sunday’s session up 0.49% or 68.94 points at the highest level in its history of 14,024.41 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 773.4 billion, gaining EGP 3.4 billion.

The EGX70 index added 0.45% to 777.27 points, while the EGX100 inched up 0.39% to 1,746.36 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.58% to 2,489.69 points.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 15.6 million and EGP 6.4 million, respectively, while Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 22 million.

Trading volume stood at 287.2 million shares exchanged at EGP 1.06 billion through 30,100 transactions.

The Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.46% to EGP 75.99 at a turnover of EGP 17.15 million.

Blue chips including Ezz Steel, Palm Hills, and Heliopolis Company for Housing and Development levelled up 5.07%, 4.29%, and 4.24%, respectively.
