EGX30 closes Monday above 14,000 pts

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday on a mixed note amid Arab and foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index closed up 0.175 or 23.65 points to the level of 14,000.43 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 760.19 billion, gaining EGP 3.9 billion.  

The EGX70 index edged up 0.65% to 785.69 points, while the EGX100 index rose 1.19% to 1,762 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched down 0.31% to 2,328.48 points.

Trading volume reached 388.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.56 billion through 38,590 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 109.8 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 74.6 million and EGP 35.2 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) inched up 0.13% to EGP 82.1, with a turnover of EGP 154.4 million.

Blue chips including Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima), Eastern Company, and Elsewedy Electric Co rose 9.87%, 5.25%, and 1.47%, respectively.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt (ADIB), Amer Group, and Egyptian resorts dropped 5.67%, 5.13%, and 4.96%, respectively.
