Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a varied note.
The benchmark EGX30 index rise by 0.31% to close at 13,837 points, backed by the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) which advanced by 1.68% to EGP 81.75, after generating a turnover of EGP 372.11 million.
On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap retreated 0.15% to 529 points, while the broader EGP100 index was stable at 1,393 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index fell by 0.32% to 1,971 points.
The market’s turnover stood at EGP 872.3 million after 119.02 million shares were exchanged through about 20,460 transactions.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 186.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 179.58 million and EGP 7.14 million, respectively.
The market cap gained EGP 300 million to close at EGP 701 billion.
