EGX up in early trade on Arab purchases

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose at Sunday’s open by 0.19% to the level of 12,877.15 points.

By 10:35am Cairo time, the EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices ascended 0.12%, 0.05%, and 0.05%, respectively.

Trading volume reached 32 million shares exchanged through 3,800 transactions, achieving a turnover of EGP 140.7 million.

Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 19 million, while net sales by Egyptian and foreign investors amounted to EGP 13.9 million and EGP 5.08 million, respectively.

Arabian Cement grew 2.56%, Crédit Agricole advanced 1.52%, and TMG Holding rose 1.3%.

Heavyweight Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) increased 0.64% to EGP 77.

On the other hand, Universal, Juhayna, Domty, Oriental Weavers, and Orascom Telecom declined between 9.62% and 1.45%.

The main gauge grew 0.93% on Thursday to 12,853.27 points.
