EGX to close on Thursday on Christmas holiday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) will close on Thursday, 6 January, on the occasion of the 2022 Coptic Christmas holiday.

Trading will resume on Sunday, 9 January, EGX said in a statement on Tuesday. Banks, as well, will be closed on Thursday and resume work on Sunday upon the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) decision.

Earlier this week, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, announced that Thursday will be an official holiday on the occasion of the Coptic Christmas, instead of Friday, 7 January.
