EGX’s main index ends week higher; market cap hits EGP 730bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) benchmark index (EGX30) closed Thursday higher by 0.73% at 11,534.63 points.

The EGX100 EWI gained 0.35% to reach 3,121 points. Similarly, the EGX50 EWI added 0.22% to end the session at 2,007 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI meanwhile went down by 0.28% to 2,114.97 points.

The turnover totalled EGP 4.3 billion after trading 733.47 million shares on stocks, compared to EGP 1.24 billion and 346.19 million shares in the previous session.

The market cap value soared to EGP 730.17 billion from EGP 723.96 billion on Wednesday.

As for trading on securities, Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 1.82 billion, while Arab and foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 1.14 billion and EGP 676.44 million, respectively.
