EGX’s main index closes 1st session of 2022 down

Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) went down by 0.33% to close Sunday, the first session in 2022, at 11,909.72 points.

The other indexes meanwhile ended the session higher, with EGX100 EWI rising by 1.01% to 3,288.16 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI gained 1.88% to close at 2,243.29 points.

Similarly, the EGX50 EWI went up by 0.49% to 2,108.12 points.

The turnover amounted to EGP 617.74 million through the trading of 271.7 million shares.

Meanwhile, the market cap value reached EGP 764.35 billion.

As for trading on securities, Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 26.3 million, while Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 15.98 million and EGP 10.32 million, respectively.
