EGX opens on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose in Monday’s early trading by 0.10% to the level of 13,016.4 points.

By 10:31am Cairo time, the EGX50 index also grew by 0.05% to 2,026.39 points, while EGX70 declined 1.19% to 529.29 points and EGX100 dropped 0.8% to 1,257.18 points.

Trading volume reached 59 million shares exchanged at EGP 182 million.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 3.2 million and EGP 2.5 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 5.7 million.

The stock market was affected by the sale of 74.75% of CIB’s stake in its subsidiary CI Capital Holding for EGP 710.158 million to a number of non-related Egyptian and Gulf investors. The stock declined 0.7% to EGP 77.59.

Acrow Misr for Scaffolding and Formwork topped gainers by adding 9.99%, Arab Aluminum also advanced 9.99%, and Nasr Company for Civil Works rose 9.97%.

On the other hand, the National Company for Maize Products fell 7.16%, New Ismailia declined 5.67%, and Misr Fertilizers Production shrank 4.81%.
