EGX opens Thursday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Thursday’s trading session up on the back of local buying.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 23.28 points, or 0.14%, to 17,170.4 points.

The EGX70 index added 0.13% to 883.02 points, while the EGX100 index remained stable at 2,261 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.41% to 2,901 points.

Trading volume reached about 73.37 million shares exchanged through 2,120 transactions at a turnover of EGP 158.45 million.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 13.14 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 10.17 million and EGP 2.9 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.65% to EGP 87 with a turnover of EGP 519,300.
