Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Sunday’s trading session down, pressured by local and Arab selling.
By 10:23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index tumbled 136.46 points, or 0.8%, to 16,928 points.
The EGX70 index dipped 0.3% to 875.65 points, and the EGX100 index slid 0.835 to 2,232 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.84% to 2,853 points.
Trading volume reached nearly 42.16 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 409.32 million through 2,230 transactions.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 337.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 7.1 million and EGP 330.2 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched down 0.06% to EGP 87.3 with a turnover of EGP 3.7 million.
