EGX opens Monday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:10 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index dipped 12 points, or 0.08%, to 14,093 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.01% to 699.4 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index slipped 0.01% to 1,768.8 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index slid 0.02% to 2,199.7 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 4.4 million shares exchanged through 555 transactions at a turnover of EGP 16.6 million.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 246,600, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 31,300 and EGP 215,300, respectively.

It has not been traded on the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) yet.

Eastern Co led top gainers with 2.11%, while Egypt Aluminum headed losers with 2.03%.
