EGX marks 4M-high on CIB

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session up on the back of local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.84% to 14,245.36 points on the back of the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB).

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.46% to 685.98 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.56% to 1,732 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.9% to 2,306 points.

Trading volume amounted to 357.04 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.12 billion through 32,600 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 32.9 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 19.9 million and EGP 12.9 million, respectively.

The CIB’s stock jumped 1.47% to EGP 84.25, with a turnover of EGP 14.41 million.

Market capitalization closed at EGP 796.05 billion and gained EGP 2.6 billion.
