EGX loses over EGP 17bn in market cap at Monday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading in the red territory after the main EGX30 index slid for the sixth session in a row, losing 2.45% to end at 10,537 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 5.27% to 1,920 points, while the EGX100 EWI plummeted by 4.51% to 2,845 points.

Likewise, the EGX50 EWI declined by 4.02% to close at 1,992 points.

The market cap shrank by EGP 17.2 billion to register EGP 641.216 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 46.03 million, while local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 33.46 million and EGP 12.57 million.

The market’s turnover reached EGP 936.04 million after 450.2 million shares were exchanged through about 39,370 transactions.
