EGX loses EGP 9.3bn in market cap at Sunday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session on a positive note on the back of local purchases.

The main EGX30 index increased by 0.67% to end at 10,122 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI climbed by 1.56% to 2,370 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX100 EWI advanced by 1.61% to 3,304 points and the EGX50 EWI levelled up by 1.61% to 2,237 points.

The market cap value retreated by EGP 9.3 billion to close at EGP 639.157 billion.

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with about EGP 505,790 and EGP 17.92 million, respectively, while local investors were net buyers with EGP 18.42 million.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.27 billion after 499.99 million shares were exchanged through around 51,650 transactions.
