EGX loses EGP 7.8bn in market cap at Wednesday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday's trading session on a mixed note.

The main EGX30 index went up by 0.07% to end at 11,685 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI declined by 3.79% to 2,224 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX100 EWI retreated by 2.95% to 3,209 points and the EGX50 EWI slid by 3.21% to end at 2,068 points.

The market cap value decreased by EGP 7.83 billion to close at EGP 742.829 billion.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 72.44 million, while local and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 65.85 million and EGP 6.59 million, respectively.

The market's turnover stood at EGP 1.35 billion after 535.19 million shares were exchanged through nearly 46,120 transactions.
