EGX loses EGP 4.6bn in market cap at Monday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a negative note amid local selloffs.

The main EGX30 index fell by 0.47% to end at 10,760 points, while the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI declined by 1.89% to 2,215 points.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI retreated by 1.68% to 3,160 points and the EGX50 EWI dropped by 1.59% to 2,170 points.

The market cap lost EGP 4.58 billion to close at EGP 670 billion on Monday, compared to EGP 674.58 billion on Sunday.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.75 billion after 695.81 million shares were exchanged through around 59,440 transactions.

Local investors were net sellers with EGP 58.03 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 6.07 million and EGP 51.96 million, respectively.
