Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session on a positive note, amid foreign purchases.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 0.24%, finishing the session at 14,060 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.26% to close at 620.82 points, while the broader EGX100 index increased by 0.28% to 1,579 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index grew by 0.09% to close at 2,116 points.
Market capitalisation gained about EGP 2.93 billion to EGP 765.99 billion on Thursday, compared to EGP 763.06 billion on Wednesday.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 118.02 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 462.67 million through around 15,870 transactions.
Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 15.1 million and EGP 1.23 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 16.33 million.
