EGX gains EGP 10.6bn in market cap at Wednesday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a positive note amid heavy turnover on the back of local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 2.55%, ending the session at 11039 points.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI advanced by 1.58% to 1398, while the broader EGX100 EWI increased by 1.95% to 2188 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index climbed by 2.6% to close at 1706 points.

The market cap value gained EGP 10.6 billion to EGP 592.8 billion.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 115.5 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 93.6 million and EGP 21.9 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.4 billion after 476.4 million shares were exchanged through around 49,500 transactions.
