Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a varied note.
The main EGX30 index slid by 1.54% to end at 10,369 points after the heavyweight Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) declined by 4.25% to EGP 54.76.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 2.01% to 2,210 points, while the EGX100 EWI climbed by 1.46% to 3,135 points.
Likewise, the EGX50 EWI advanced by 1.48% to close at 2,153 points.
The market cap value retreated by EGP 2.89 billion to stand at EGP 655.739 billion.
Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 2.7 million and EGP 114.16 million, respectively, while local investors were net buyers with EGP 116.95 million.
The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.35 billion after 609.46 million shares were exchanged through about 48,190 transactions.
